The Belgrade Marathon, as the most massive sports event in Serbia, with a tradition spanning
nearly four decades, has gained exceptional reputation both domestically and internationally. The
fact that the Belgrade Marathon is included in the calendar of World Athletics and has the status
of an event of special importance for the City of Belgrade adds to the importance of this
prestigious race. <\/p>\n
The significant impact and overwhelmingly positive image enjoyed not only among runners but
also in the broader public led the Belgrade Marathon to channel its influence in the noblest way
possible\u2014by serving social responsibility. Inspired by the world\u2019s major marathons, the \u2018Heroes
of the Belgrade Marathon\u2019 foundation was established. <\/p>\n

The main goals of the foundation are the protection and improvement of humanitarian activities,
sustainable development, amateur sports, the environment, and animals. A special focus is on the
protection and improvement of the position of people with disabilities, on the protection and

up to the world’s largest marathons, the humanitarian foundation \u2018Heroes of the Belgrade
